A school, a suite or a hub
Most course platforms are a school: lessons, quizzes and a checkout. Teachable Starter is the low entry at $29/month billed annually, but it adds a 7.5% transaction fee. Thinkific Start is $82/month billed annually, with a 30-day trial.
Kajabi is the suite: courses plus pipelines, email and a website, from $143/month billed annually on Basic, which includes 5 products and 2,500 contacts.
WithMe is the recommendation when the course is one product among several. The same plan holds unlimited courses, 1:1 coaching bookings, a community, email and digital downloads, with 0% commission and iOS and Android customer apps.
Podia Mover is $42/month billed yearly, with a 5% fee and up to 100 email subscribers: a simple store for courses and downloads.
A $2,000 a month course business
On $2,000 a month in sales, Teachable Starter's 7.5% is $150 a month on top of the plan. Podia Mover's 5% is $100. Kajabi Basic is $143/month billed annually with no revenue share. WithMe is $25/month billed annually and takes 0% commission. Payment processing fees apply on all of them.
When to pick a school instead
If you sell only courses and never plan to add coaching or a community, a dedicated school such as Teachable or Thinkific is a fair choice. Pick a hub when the course is how people start and coaching or a community is how they stay.
