Coaches worldwide average $49,283 a year in revenue from coaching, according to the 2025 ICF Global Coaching Study. Coaches with over ten years of experience average $69,721. These are survey averages for all coach practitioners, not forecasts, and revenue is before costs and tax.
The honest answer is that it varies a lot. In the same study, Millennials average $33,553 a year and Baby Boomers average $60,323 (ICF executive summary). One average cannot tell you what you will make.
The survey has limits too. The executive summary gives no separate figure for online only coaches, so these averages cover coaches who work online and in person. The survey ran from 28 Feb to 23 Apr 2025, with 10,035 valid responses and 8,916 coach practitioners. The figures rely on what people said in the survey. It is also skewed: 80% were ICF members, and business related coaching, such as leadership, executive, career and team coaching, makes up 77% of the specialties coaches declared (ICF France write up). One related figure: 47% use digital coaching platforms, mostly for one to one virtual sessions (35%) and scheduling (23%) (ICF executive summary).

How coaching pay is made up
Coaches can earn in more than one way. This table shows how each offer works. It gives no income numbers, only how each offer works.
| Offer | How it earns | Time it takes | Good fit when |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1:1 coaching | A client pays you for each session or for a package of sessions. | Your time for every session, plus prep and follow up. | Your clients want close, personal help and you have open hours. |
| Group programs | Several clients each pay for a place in the same program. | Your time for each live session, however many people join. | Many clients share the same problem and can learn from each other. |
| Courses | A buyer pays once, or in a plan, for lessons they watch alone. | A lot of time up front, then updates and support. | You can teach your method in steps without being on a call. |
| Memberships and community | Members pay on repeat for ongoing access. | Steady time each month to post, host and reply. | You have fresh things to share and people want to stay for them. |
What moves the number
In the 2025 study, 59% of coaches expect higher annual revenue next year. These are their expectations, not results. Here is what the figures point to:
- More clients. 60% expect that growth to come from more clients (ICF executive summary).
- More sessions. 51% expect it to come from more sessions (ICF executive summary).
- Higher fees. 37% expect it to come from higher fees (ICF executive summary).
- Experience. Coaches with over ten years of experience average $69,721 a year, against $49,283 for all coaches (ICF executive summary). The two figures sit side by side. They do not prove that time alone adds the difference.
- Offers beyond 1:1. 60% of coaches also offer training, 57% consulting, 55% facilitation and 49% mentoring (ICF France write up). These figures show how common the extras are, not how much they earn.
A simple calculator
Do not multiply the study's fee by its hours. The $234 fee, the 11.6 hours and the 12.4 clients are separate averages, and they do not multiply into the $49,283 average. So this calculator only uses your own numbers.
The total is in the same currency as your price. This multiplies your own numbers. It is not a forecast and not an income promise.

WithMe fits coaches who want to sell those offers from one hub: coaching calls, courses, memberships, community, landing pages, Instagram Auto DMs and AI agents. It has the simplicity of Stan Store with the functionality of Kajabi, and it is an all-in-one creator hub, not a link-in-bio tool. A platform does not raise your income by itself. Your offer, your price and your clients still decide that, and other tools may suit you better, so compare them first.
